The North Fence

"As you get near the north fence, you see something big moving on the other side. You sit up on your horse. There's a large brown animal walking around on the other side of the fence."(p.4) 



     "The North Fence" is a book of Atama-ii Books series. In this book series, you will be the main character of this book and you can choose action. Every books of this series have multi-endings, and it depends on your choice whether you reach good ending or bad ending.
     In this book, you'll be a new member of the group of hunter. However, unfortunately, you encounter a big and fierce bear. It's too strong so that it break the fence. Can you survive at this situation?
    Fortunately, I could reach the best ending at first time. I read a few books of this series, and I found that these books have a tendency. It's "if you fight, you defenitely reach bad ending", so you probably reach good ending if you avoid fighting. However, each endings were interesting, so I recommend you to read all of them.

L.A. Detective

"Len says, 'I don't like you, Blane. I don't want your money. But Carmen is in trouble. She needs help. I'll help her.'" (p. 7)  Lenny Samuel is an L.A. detective. One day a man called Frank came to his office and he took Len to Mr. Blane by force. Mr. Blane is a rich and also a bad man. Recently, his daughter, Carmen has been kidnapped and the suspect demanded a ransom, so he asked Len to save Carmen. Len doesn't like Mr. Blane, but he agreed to help his daughter.   This book is the story of a detective, and I was surprised to the story. In the end, the position of client and suspect exchanged. In fact, the suspect is a very nice person, and the kidnapping was the plan to punish Mr. Blane. I felt it was a short but good story. Prowse, P. (1993).  L.A. Detective . Macmillan Heinemann ELT.

The Red-headed League

"As a rule," said Holmes, "the stranger a thing seems the less mysterious it really is. It is your ordinary crimes which are really mysterious, just an ordinary face is the most difficult to identify." (p. 40)    One day, a red headed-man visited to Holmes's office. He asked him to detect the mysterious organization, "the red-headed league". The client was the member of it, but the league has closed suddenly. As Holmes surveyed this accident, he revealed that this relates to the big crime.  This is the story of Sherlock Holmes. This may be the first time that I read Holmes, but I enjoyed it, and I felt this story is very serious. I wondered that other Holmes's book are also like this story, so I want to read them more.
